Not many new things happening this week, mainly because of…
MSc
Submitted my essay on learning environments for this semester which was a relief. It’s a little over the word limit. Not sure how confident I feel about putting it online after I get it back. We’ll see. I may just do a digested version.
The new semester has started and we’re looking more at change management and less at learning theory. I’m looking forward to applying it the projects I’m working on at the moment.
Open learning at work
We’ve started an open learning project within the Netskills this week on exploring digital video. We’re not doing formal learning events, more experimenting with things and sharing knowledge on a peer to peer basis. There are a few of us in the team who want to find out more and this seems like a good way to approach it. It’s an interesting model that reminds me of the Futurelabs materials on Enquiring Minds but in a CPD context.
I’m looking forward to getting back into doing film stuff again. It was something I was getting quite proficient at in my last job but I’ve been feeling myself de-skilling through lack of activity.
On a personal note…
Not much to report here, but I did like this…
Oh, and I’m amazed how well my kids can recognise film soundtracks!

Glad you’re so enthusiastic about the ‘learning video’ project & approach
We should get some dates in the diary for the have-a-go sessions, see if we can put the theory into practice.
