Thinking about 3D Printers

Pic: 3 dimensional printerI caught the last 2 minutes of Radio4′s Click On programme yesterday (series 7, ep2) and they were talking about the advent of affordable 3D Printers. I only caught a tiny bit of the discussion but it was enough to get my mind going. The picture they were painting of the future was really interesting, with loads of implications for intellectual property and the economics of production.
Warning: There are a lot of question marks in this post and not many conclusions!

Having tried one out for a few weeks these are some of my initial thoughts as an aide memoire (and they probably will change over time).

I’m curious to know if there’s a pattern and whether that pattern can inform ICT strategy for learning.
